Membership takes place following acceptance of the last version of the Protocol of Understanding, through remittance of the membership letter to the National Coordination, signed by the head of the institution.

There are also private national consulting offices that develop studies and projects in the area of environment. Membership of these to the system is of capital importance for diffusion of the works that have been carried out aiming at a more sustainable development and improved promotion of their services both at the national and at the international level.

Private companies in the area of environmental technologies, as it is the case of the recycling industry, do not exist yet in the country, but they may soon make their appearance. These are considered to be potential EIS partners.
